The best time to visit is during the Daragang Magayon Festival in May, a month-long province-wide celebration which relives the legend of Mayon Volcano through threatrical presentations, street dance and a host of special events. Literally meaning “beautiful” the fest is a month long celebration held during summer which depicts the legend of “Daragang Magayon” from where Mayon Volcano originated, Events include trade fairs of local products and cuisine, musical concerts, sport tournaments, art and cultural pageant, fashion shows and various special activities. Its highlight is the Legend Showdown street dancing tilt and musical play on Daragang Magayon.
Albay can be reached by air via Legazpi City with flights to and from Manila and Ce. There are also regular aircon and premium buses emanating from Manila Bound for Legazpi, passing through the Maharlika Highway.
