Its main tourist icon is the Butanding or whale shark, the biggest fish in the world, which abounds in Donsol town form October to May as they feed on plankton, krill and juvenile fish. This has lured thoursands of tourists from around the world to experience the thrill of swimming and interacting with these gentle giants of the sea.
From Manila, it can be reached by air via Legazpi City. From there, are vans and buses bound for Sorsogon at the integrated terminal. There are also daily bus trips to Sorsogon City, the transport hub of the province.
